Improving your domain’s email configuration is really important for not only protecting it against spoofing and forgery but also boosting its email deliverability rate. TDMARC is an analytical tool that helps you secure and monitors your domain. It allows you to monitor and improve your domain’s email configuration as required.
TDMARC lets you check the different email sources which are utilizing your domain as well as which of these sources are sending spoofed emails from your domain. You can also analyze the SPF and DKIM records of that source.
How to Check the Email Sources Utilizing Your Domain?
For checking the email sources utilizing your domain, you need to follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Go to the TDMARC Dashboard and click on ‘Sources’.
Step 2: Select the domain you wish to check the sources for from the drop-down menu. You can check the sources for each domain separately as well as combined.
Step 3: You can also select a specific subdomain from the drop-down menu as per your requirements.
Step 4: TDMARC lets you choose the duration of the data you want to look at. It offers the option of checking the sources utilizing the selected domain in the past 7 days, 14 days, or 1 month. You can also select the ‘Custom’ option from the drop-down menu for customizing the duration as needed.
Ways to Improve the Email Configuration for Your Domain
Once you have made all the selections and can see all the sources utilizing your domain to send emails, identify the genuine sources.
Your objective should be to ensure that all these genuine sources are 90% DMARC compliant. You need to take appropriate action in case the DMARC compliance is not up to the mark in a particular genuine source. You can click on the name of a source to view further details.
For improving a source’s DMARC compliance, you can reconfigure the SPF and DKIM alignment of your domain. TDMARC’s Smart SPF feature lets you manage and change your domain’s SPF record with just a few clicks from its dashboard.
Depending on the applied DMARC policy, if your emails still fail to deliver despite passing the SPF and DKIM authentication, you need to check the SPF Domain and DKIM Domain. For improving the source’s DMARC compliance, it is essential to make sure that both the return path and the DKIM domain are the same as your domain.
