What is a RUA report?

A RUA (Reporting URI for Aggregate) report is an aggregated DMARC report sent by receiving mail servers to the domain owner. These reports provide statistical data about email authentication results for messages claiming to be from your domain.

RUA reports are typically generated daily and are sent in XML format.

What Information Does a RUA Report Contain?

A RUA report includes aggregated authentication data such as:

  • Source IP address of the sending server

  • Volume of messages sent from each IP

  • SPF authentication result (pass/fail/softfail)

  • DKIM authentication result (pass/fail)

  • DKIM domain and selector (if DKIM is used)

  • DMARC alignment results

  • Policy disposition (none, quarantine, reject)

  • Reporting organization (the receiver generating the report)

  • Date range covered by the report

  • Country / region (sometimes included by large providers)
