Can this stop phishing?
No, it's only for securing your outbound email flow.
If the tool malfunctions, will there be any challenge in my email exchange?
There will be no impact on outbound email delivery, as email sending (SMTP delivery, SPF/DKIM authentication) continues to function independently of the dashboard.
We don't send marketing emails, so how is this of any use to us?
Even if you don't send any marketing emails, hackers can misuse your email domain to send spoofed emails to your employees, partners and vendors. This tool can help you prevent such incidents.
Which policy should we go for?
Quarantine is the best policy. But it's advisable to start with None policy and analyse the reports through TDMARC and accordingly change the policy to quarantine and then reject.
Where in the DNS do we add the DMARC record?
Go to manage DNS on your domain hosting platform. Add _dmarc as a host; CNAME/TXT record type, and the provided value.
How do you stop the marketing emails spoofing if we have a third-party vendor for the same?
The company's domain will be configured through SPF, DKIM and DMARC records. The third-party vendor will obviously use that domain to send marketing emails.
Does it work on outbound or inbound emails?
Only spoofing of outbound emails is prevented. If you have a DMARC record at your DNS, spoofing will not be possible.
How can we change the SPF record and DMARC record from the dashboard without visiting the DNS?
